2014 Robotics Showcase
The 2014 Robotics Showcase was held at the Florida Solar Energy Center in Cocoa, FL on October 16, 2014. This was an evening of professional networking for the Space Coast technical community. Members of competitive robotics teams from numerous high schools were present to demonstrate their work as were members from the Florida Tech NASAbotics team and the Cura Oceanus Foundation, a professional group developing a robot for exploration of the Indian River Lagoon.
The 2014 Robotics Showcase was sponsored by the Canaveral Council of Technical Societies with the WID Space Coast STEM Council, and the Cape Canaveral Section of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) with additional financial support by the North Florida Section, Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEi); International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Space Coast Chapter; and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), Melbourne Section. The Florida Solar Energy Center hosted the event at their facility in Cocoa, FL.
FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) Teams Participated in an Open Practice at the 2014 Robotics Showcase. In addition, FLL held training for coaches, judges and team mentors.
Members of the Florida Institute of Technology NASAbotics team presented their entrant in the NASAbotics competition, which simulates autonomous mining of regolith.
Four Brevard County FIRST® Robotics Competition Teams were on hand to present and demonstrate their Robots. Pictured here is the Robot from Team Horsepower playing catch with visiting children.

Team Voltage won the 2014 Creativity Award sponsored by Xerox at the South Florida Regional FRC competition. The Pink Team won the 2014 Chesapeake Regional Engineering Excellence Award sponsored by Delphi.
Palm Bay Magnet High School support six teams participating in the VEX® Robotics Competition (VRC). Members of these teams were on hand to demonstrate their hardware and demonstrate VRC competition in a full-size competition field. The Palm Bay teams Qualified for VRC World competition for the past 5 years and went to French Nationals Competition in 2013.
